250 Words is designed to help you visually learn some basic Spanish vocabulary. In this version you will learn 250 concrete nouns (with some exceptions). In normal speak that means these are words for things you can generally touch, hold etc. You won’t be able to ask for directions or order lunch after using the app, but it will add some basic words to your vocabulary. This should be one tool amongst many that you use on your way to learning Spanish. Most importantly we provide a picture of each word, along with a normal and slow pronunciation in Spanish. This app focuses on connecting the spoken word with the visual. Hopefully you’ll agree it’s a very effective way to learn!
Disclaimer:
Please keep in mind there are many, many ways to say the same word in Spanish, and this varies between and even within countries. These translations were done by a native Costa Rican. We know that language nerds, purists and people from other countries will disagree with these translations. Our apologies in advance, but remember it’s impossible to please everyone. At least if you make it to the right town in Costa Rica, they will understand you.
